Codex Services · Preston, Lancashire
Websites that get the phone ringing.
I’m Jamal, the engineer behind Codex Services. I build the software bigger companies run on — and put that same engineering into websites, apps and automation for local businesses. No templates, no agency markup, no jargon. You deal with the person who does the work.
Free demo first. £249 if you love it, then £20 a month. That is the whole deal.

How it works
You judge the work before you spend a penny.
Tell me about your business
Two minutes on the form: what you do, where you work, and the jobs you want more of. No meeting, no deposit.
I build you a free demo
A real, live homepage designed for your trade and your brand, usually within a couple of days. You get a link to keep.
Love it? It goes live
£249 one-off and it is yours, finished together on your own domain. £20 a month keeps it hosted, secure and updated.
Why me
Built by an engineer, not resold by an agency.
By day I build payment systems and platforms that have to work every time, at scale, with real money on the line. Evenings and weekends, I put that same engineering into websites for local businesses. Your site is fast, secure and built properly underneath, not a drag-and-drop page with a logo swapped in.
I also run my own online businesses, so I care about the things you do: does the phone ring, do customers trust it, does it cost sensible money to keep running.

The honest comparison
Three ways to get a website. Here is the truth about each.
| DIY builder (Wix, Squarespace) | High-street agency | This studio | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it costs | £10-40 a month, forever | £1,500 to £5,000+ | £249 once, then £20/mo |
| Who builds it | You, in your spare time | A junior on a template | Me, the person you talk to |
| Time to live | Your weekends, for weeks | 6 to 12 weeks | Days, not weeks |
| Designed for your trade | No | sometimes | Yes |
| Real photos, not stock | No | rarely | yes, made for you |
| You see it before paying | No | No | yes, free demo first |
| Locked in | yes, to their platform | often | no, you own everything |

No two look alike. That is the point.
Straight answers
Questions people actually ask
How much does a website cost in Preston?+
My starter site is £249 as a one-off, then £20 a month for hosting, security, backups and small text or photo changes whenever you need them. Bigger sites, shops and booking systems get a fixed quote before any work starts. The demo is free either way.
What does a free demo actually mean?+
Exactly what it says. Tell me your trade and your area, and I build a real working homepage for your business and send you the live link. If you like it, we finish it together and it becomes yours. If you do not, you say no thanks and owe nothing.
How long does it take?+
A starter site is typically live within a week of you saying yes, often faster. Shops and custom systems take longer and I will give you an honest timeline up front.
Do you use templates or AI page builders?+
No templates. Every site is designed for your trade, your area and your brand, with photography made for your business rather than stock photos everyone has seen. I use modern tools where they help, but every page is judged by one human question: would a customer trust this?
Will my website show up on Google and in AI answers?+
Every site ships with proper local SEO: structured data, fast load times, a mobile-first layout and the markup that helps Google, Bing and AI assistants understand who you are and what you do. Rankings take time, so I will never promise page one overnight, but the foundations are done properly from day one.
I already have a website. Can you improve it?+
Yes. Send me the link. I will tell you straight whether it needs a refresh or a rebuild, and I can build the new version alongside the old one so you can compare them before switching.
